VERA has an opening for a GIS analyst/technical writer. Individual will be responsible for a variety of tasks including cartography and writing and editing technical documents, proposals and permits. Candidate should be capable of working independently and be flexible, as work assignments may vary supporting other staff in our small Waterbury Center, VT office.

Candidate should have 2+ years experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, MapInfo and related software as well as a high level of familiarity with Microsoft Office including Access. Excellent technical writing skills are a must, and the candidate must be comfortable doing simple quantitative analysis. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Additional desirable skills include knowledge of computer networks, website development skills and knowledge of Vermont environmental and development permitting processes.
