Wind Resource Analyst

VERA is seeking a Wind Resource Analyst to support our team in all aspects of project wind resource assessment including the management of met towers, data collection and analysis, turbine layouts and energy estimation. Previous experience in siting large scale wind turbines and developing wind ernergy projects is preferred. A strong background in math/science/analytic field is required. The poistion reports to VERA's Senior Analyst.

Responsibilities:
- Collect, QC and file meteorological data
- Develop long-term estimates for wind resource characteristics over a proposed site area
- Create and analyse project layouts using industry standard software such as WindPro, WaSP, Windfarmer and ArcGIS
- Create iterative forecasts of project output using multiple turbine types and siting configurations
- Assist with specifying, installing, and collection data from met towers and other sources
- Prepare reports, tables and other documentation of findings
- Assist with other technical and office duties as needed

Competencies and Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in technical/math/science discipline with a strong academic record
- Three to five years minimum of related experience
- Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Power-Point, Access
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS
- Proven track record and strong interest in wind energy resource assessment
- Desire to work in a small office environment
- Experience designing and implementing wind resource monitoring programs
- Experience with WaSP, WindPro and/or Windfarmer
